Forecasting Next Generation Libraries, A Virtual Course-ference July – August 2013

  • How can we predict and prepare for the next two decades of academic librarianship? What resources and services will college and university libraries provide in 2033? Carthage and its partners offer a virtual conference to help librarians and other members of the academic community develop strategies to anticipate and prepare for change as a vital part of the educational ecosystem. We propose to use a course-ference, a new model that combines the best of the conference experience with the value of an on-line course. We’ll mix synchronous and asynchronous presentations with collaborative learning to provide both a broader and deeper exploration for forecasting  the next 20 years in academic librarianship.
