The Collective (A New Conference Concept), February 19-20, 2015 – Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

the collective

The goals of The Collective are learning, networking, and kickstarting new ideas among next-generation librarians and library stakeholders where the participants determine the content. The program schedule and content is set by YOU, the participants. Learn more about our unique conference program planning here. We envision that the gathering might look something like this: Morning kickoff sessions that consist of informal, moderated panels, followed by more takeaway-driven afternoon sessions and lightning talks.  Lunch will offer an opportunity for discussion of special topics among shared interest groups.  Aside from a longer afternoon “wrap-up” plenary discussion on the second day, evenings will be reserved for informal networking and exploration of the Knoxville arts and culture scene. We are planning a lovely “Blues & BBQ” opening night reception at the iconic Sunsphere in downtown Knoxville as well as an optional library-themed pub crawl for the closing night! We hope to announce more weekend activities as the gathering gets closer.
