AIS Global #InformationSystems #Education Report
This report is an attempt to provide an integrated view of information systems (IS) educational offerings around the world. The academic field of Information Systems, which studies the design, use, and impact of IS in organizations, is based on a long-standing tradition that is today more relevant than ever. The digital age connects not only people but also the objects in our everyday lives to the Internet, capturing and exchanging information and facilitating efficient, sustain-able, and enjoyable user experiences. The World Economic Forum 2016 identified competencies in IS design and use as key to professional success. While many white-collar jobs are expected to vanish because of automation and fundamental change of work, experts see a significant demand for competencies developed by IS education.
We are grateful for the extraordinary support of the IS community. The institutions themselves provided all data. Please see the open Call for Contributions, which had been disseminated via multiple channels, including the AISWorld mailing list, here.
The data in the report is based on entries to the http://www.eduglopedia.org platform provided by institutions by November 30, 2015, and it includes 567 programs from 72 countries. The collection will be updated continually via the http://www.eduglopedia.org platform, and an updated report will be issued each year.
