#Greenpeace urges you to rethink plastic in powerful, hard-hitting print campaign

Greenpeace Canada has teamed up with creative agency Rethink for its latest print campaign that tackles the global plastic problem.

In this trio of hard-hitting ads, the NGO juxtaposes the destructive force of single-use plastic straws against the fragility of life.

Sarah King, Greenpeace Canada’s Head of Oceans and Plastics Campaigns, explained that the project is not solely targeting plastic straws, but “throwaway plastic” as a whole. She urges companies, regardless of their size, to rethink how they utilize plastic.

“Straws are a great way to start the conversation but all throwaway plastic, like lids, cups, containers, and packaging, is fueling the plastic pollution crisis. We need to see companies innovating beyond plastic and truly reducing their massive plastic footprints on our blue planet and communities.”

Plastic straws have become a widely talked about issue of late, with major brands including McDonald’s, KFC, and Starbucks vowing to eliminate these single-use plastics from their restaurants. In its place come eco-friendlier alternatives such as paper straw substitutes.
