Daily habits save us brainpower and help to keep us productive. When you arrive to work at the same time, make coffee for the office, then get to work answering emails, your body learns that there’s a daily expectation and it’s already in the zone to get these tasks done. You don’t have to think about how to run your morning routine, you just do.
These daily habits are good productivity tools, but bad habits can disrupt your day. If you have a bad habit of hitting snooze so you wake up late and don’t make lunch, you get hungry at noon and get takeout. Snooze is a temporary relief to feeling tired and a take-out lunch is easy, but it becomes harmful to your financial health.
It’s hard to break bad habits, so instead you need to learn to redirect your habit towards something positive. When you learn how habits develop and seem to benefit your brain, you can discover what triggers your habit and its rewards. This gives you the power to work with your habit to build something more positive.
This infographic from Turbo explains how habits are formed so you can use the power of habits to stay productive.
