Egyptian Press Archive of CEDEJ (Presented online by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina)

CEDEJ and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina are honored to present 40 years of political, cultural and economic aspects in the discourse of modern Egyptian history, spanning the time between the mid 1970’s until 2010. This exceptional endeavor has seen the light owing to the fruitful cooperation between both institutions. Since 1976, CEDEJ had formed a documentary wealth of 800,000 articles taken from 24 daily and weekly Egyptian and Arab paper journals and 11 digital ones. The articles were classified into 15 themes depending on their subject. Furthermore, each theme had been classified into sub-themes. Hence, this vast collection allows users to pursue the changing aspects of the modern Egyptian society. This wealthy documentation has acquired an added value owing to the modern technological techniques deployed by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, who had digitized the press clips and availed them online, with the collaboration of CEDEJ who had catalogued and indexed the collection for its dissemination online.
