Which countries in Europe are more extraverted and which ones are more introverted?

Extraversion and introversion are considered one of the key personality traits. This personality trait is a spectrum, meaning that not everyone that is introverted is introverted to the same extent. Not every introvert is the same, they are all on a different position on the spectrum.

The source of this map, 16Personalities.com, describes extraversion and introversion as following:

Extraverted individuals prefer group activities and get energized by social interaction. They tend to be more enthusiastic and more easily excited than Introverts.

Introverted individuals prefer solitary activities and get exhausted by social interaction. They tend to be quite sensitive to external stimulation (e.g. sound, sight or smell) in general.

This map shows the average score of all respondents by country. It gives us a bit of an idea which countries are more extraverted and which ones are more introverted.

In Europe, the majority of countries are more introverted. Especially in north-eastern Europe. In south-eastern Europe, people tend to be a bit more extraverted.

The most extraverted country in Europe is Albania (52.5%). The nearby countries of Montenegro, North Macedonia and also Turkey and Cyprus, are also quite extraverted. Switzerland, which is not in south-eastern Europe, is also quite extraverted (51.8%).

The most introverted country in Europe is Lithuania (55.6%). Which is also the most introverted country in the world. The Faroe Islands, Poland, Finland and Portugal all are in the global top 10 of most introverted countries.
